There has been a continued link between Boost Mobile and DraftKings and now the speculation is coming to fruition. Boost Mobile subscribers will be receiving exclusive deals and special offers for daily fantasy and betting in states that allow such activities. The move comes after a dedicated focus to provide gambling value to its customers.
When Boost Mobile subscribers sign up to bet on the DraftKings app and deposit $5 for placing their bets, they will receive a $50 credit. The offer is only available for subscribers living in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. In states that allow daily fantasy contests only, subscribers can deposit $5 and enter one of the contests to receive a $3 credit for their DraftKings account. Boost subscribers in Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, and Washington are not eligible due to state laws that ban DraftKings. Although this is not the initial plan, in the future, Boost Mobile is planning to have their phones come with DraftKings pre-installed on devices. Subscribers can also visit Boost Mobile locations to fund their accounts.
“Joining forces with DraftKings to make sports entertainment more convenient for our customers is the next step in delivering value-added services and entertainment to our users. We want to be more than just a utility to our users, serving as a lifestyle resource and a source of entertainment,” said Boost Mobile’s Head of Marketing, Andrea Henderson.
Since being purchased by DISH Wireless, Boost Mobile continues to take a different route. DISH has always prided itself on being a disruptor within its industries and wireless is no different. As it balances building out its cloud-native 5G network, the journey begins with retaining and growing Boost’s subscriber base. The company has set out to provide value in a variety of areas including financial services, gambling, healthcare, and privacy.
Collaborating with DraftKings made perfect sense as DISH Network and the leader in daily fantasy already have their own partnership. The idea was to implement DraftKings onto Boost Mobile down the line and it appears that time has come. As gambling laws continue to loosen across the United States, it is a lucrative space that many industries are exploring with the global gambling market set to grow into an industry worth over $516 billion by 2030.
Most brands are focusing on adding entertainment but Boost is taking various other approaches. Boost Mobile has already fulfilled three of these targets now that DraftKings is on board. Previously, Boost’s Privacy Premium plan and collaboration with K Health to provide its subscribers with access to top-tier telehealth services gave direct value to its customers. With these sectors fulfilled, the financial services will be the next venture to watch. “When you think about our strategy, we’re looking to offer relevant value across all four dimensions, starting with the privacy bundle,” said Executive VP of Boost Mobile, Stephen Stokols.
