The continued efforts to create America’s next nationwide 5G network requires a variety of different hands-on-deck. DISH Wireless is continuing to build a great list of partners to assist in building its innovative network by adding Australian software solutions company Hansen Technologies. The agreement will see DISH Wireless acquire access to the Hansen Create-Deliver-Engage Suite, a suite which will provide DISH with cloud-based applications for automation, CPQ and order management, real-time facilitating and fulfillment for various 5G-based services, and a unified catalog.
A collaborative approach is one of the core foundations of the 5G network that DISH Wireless is developing. As a part of the O-RAN Alliance, DISH Wireless’s network will be filled with opportunities for its many vendors to collaborate and innovate through interchangeable, compatible pieces. This includes its dynamic pricing software from Matrixx Software and cloud capabilities from VMware. These efforts will allow the vendors to work together smoothly all while lowering costs and providing the framework for vendors to create solutions at a quicker rate.
Building its 5G network is proving to be a monumental task, yet since completing its purchase of Boost Mobile from T-Mobile, DISH Wireless has been anything but shy about tackling this challenge head-on. Providing much more than affordable cell phone plans, DISH Wireless has its eyes on other 5G solutions. A key part of what 5G is going to offer the future of wireless communications is how much faster fixed wireless networks will become. Combining this with DISH’s plan to create end-to-end network slices that are priced accurately due to its dynamic pricing model, DISH Wireless will look to provide custom network solutions in the commercial sector.
The year 2020 will most greatly become defined by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It continues to affect many different aspects of life for billions of people across the globe and has disrupted many industries including the wireless industry. Uncertainties continue to plague businesses and remote working continues to displace many workers. This has accentuated the need for a powerful 5G network capable of supporting extra workloads as we have seen this year. It is also highlighting the need for various custom 5G network solutions for workers and consumers alike. With more than $20 billion invested in spectrum and billions more on the docket, DISH Wireless can use this as an opportunity to get the most out of its vendors, network, and provide new solutions that surpass what is currently possible with modern technology.
