DISH Network’s On Demand library is one of the most exciting perks of being a DISH subscriber. The service is vast, easy to use and even easier to set up! To get started simply connect your Hopper device to your home internet via either a WiFi or wired ethernet connection. Then, press the “Menu” button on your DISH remote. If your remote does not have a menu button, press the “Home” button twice. This will bring up a new menu where you can select “Video on Demand”. Once you’ve done that, all you have to do is browse the catalogue and select the show/movie you wish to watch!
DISH’s On Demand services offer a vast library of content with thousands of title available to choose from. You can watch this content on an internet-connected Hopper device or on a phone, tablet or computer via the DISH Anywhere application.
If you are trying to access DISH On Demand via a computer, go to www.dishanywhere.com and login using your credentials. If you are using a mobile device, download the DISH Anywhere app, and log in from there.
If you know you are not going to be able to connect to the internet, but still want to enjoy DISH’s On Demand content, plan ahead! If you connect to On Demand via a mobile device that is connected to the internet you can choose to download a program, instead of streaming it. If you download the content you want to watch ahead of time, when you do have an internet connection, you will be able to watch it offline any time you want on that device. However, that does not apply to recorded DVR content. So, if you record a show with your Hopper DVR you must be online to watch that recording from a mobile device.
While DISH On Demand does have an impressive library of free content, it also allows you to rent newer content for an additional cost. Not only that, but DISH often has new titles available to rent a full 28 days before other services like Redbox. DISH will occasionally even have titles available to rent the same day that they are released in theatres.
DISH’s On Demand library is one of the most underutilized and underappreciated aspects of being a DISH Network subscriber. The vast array of free content, coupled with the impressive rental collection ensures that you can always find something to watch that the whole family will enjoy!
