How Fast Is DISH High Speed Internet?

The speed of your DISH Network internet service depends on your location and the tier of services that you are currently paying for. Rural customers can get satellite internet speeds of up to 10 Mbps. Those who live in more metropolitan areas can choose internet speeds of up to 40 Mbps through DISH Network.

DISH Internet packages can essentially be divided into two categories: DSL customers and satellite internet customers. Satellite internet customers are subject to slower speeds than DSL customers, but they can receive service in considerably more remote areas. The satellite internet is distributed through dishNET and the starting package begins with speeds of 5 Mbps. If you’re willing to pay more, you can double that speed at 10 Mbps in remote areas.

If you live in a more suburban or urban area, you can get a faster satellite internet connection with speeds of up to 20 Mbps, or you can opt for a DSL connection which offers even faster speeds. If you go with a DSL connection in an urban area you will be looking at speeds of up to 40 Mbps.

It’s also important to remember that there are a number of factors that can affect your internet speed that are outside the control of your internet service provider. For example, your connection will always be significantly faster if you use a wired connection instead of WiFi.

If you do opt to go with a wireless connection, be sure to place your router in the most advantageous area of your home. It helps to know what your walls are made of; if you have concrete walls you’re going to have issues with wireless signals. Place the router in as central a place as possible, ideally in a room that you often utilize the internet in.

DISH Network offers internet speeds for every kind of consumer with speeds from 5 Mbps all the way up to 40 Mbps. Whether you’re a gamer, YouTube streamer or just want to watch Netflix—DISH has you covered.
