How Much Does Sling TV Cost?

DISH Network used to be synonymous with satellite television services, and while DISH certainly still offers those they are steadily becoming known for something more befitting the twenty-first century: streaming. DISH Network’s streaming service, Sling TV, first launched in 2015 and has been growing steadily ever since. Of course, one of the main goals of the service for DISH is to replace the satellite subscribers that they are losing with new Sling TV subscribers. Unfortunately, even with steady Sling TV growth DISH has been losing more customers then they have been gaining for several years now. In an effort to reverse that trend, DISH recently announced that they are slashing the prices on their Sling TV services for new customers. It is worth noting that this is a promotional price cut, not a permanent one. The current offer is tied to the new tax season, and is set to run for about three months. Traditionally, a Sling TV subscription costs about 40% more than the promotional prices that are available now. Currently, new Sling TV customers can get a Sling Orange or Sling Blue package for $15 per month. If someone is interested in having access to both channel packages, you can bundle them for $25 a month. DISH Network is betting big on the success of Sling TV, and while it is growing, it’s not gaining subscribers at the rate needed to offset satellite subscriber losses. In 2017 Sling TV gained a whopping 711,000 subscribers. In 2019 that growth slowed down to 205,000 new subscribers. In total, DISH reports that Sling TV has roughly 2.4 million subscribers at the moment. Hopefully this promotion, which is legitimately a great deal, helps to bring that number up.
